SA-H2H™ member AGIG graciously opened their doors for a tour of the renowned Hydrogen Park SA.

As part of our 2024 Winter Warmer Series, members & non-members learnt how AGIG produces renewable hydrogen for blending with natural gas to supply nearby homes and business.

A wonderful night of networking celebrating the 2024 SA-H2H Winter Warmer Series. This night lived up to its promise as an invaluable experience for professionals across various industries.

These evenings are designed to foster connections, spark collaborations, and ignite innovative ideas, offering the perfect opportunity to engage with fellow SA-H2H members, share insights with peers, and expand professional networks in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

Help shape the growing hydrogen industry in SA, and dive into the opportunities arising in both the state and for businesses in this emerging sector.

Hosted by SA-H2H™ Chairman Graham Dooley, the panel was headlined by Russell James, Jorge Martin Gistau, Edit Mucsi and Saindhav Tamhane. Exploring the big themes of hydrogen the panel discussed the sustainable future of the energy and mining industry with a focus on some key points:

• Improvements in the efficiency of hydrogen
• Ways to bring production costs down
• The role of green hydrogen in decarbonisation
• Jobs and future skills required across the industry
• Global projects already utilising hydrogen power

The Horizon H2GP is a wonderful STEM program providing school students the hands-on experience in designing, engineering and racing remote-controlled fuel cell vehicles powered by hydrogen. This brilliant program encourages teaches and promotes the future generation about careers in renewable energy.

On the 10 May, 19 school teams from across regional and metropolitan South Australia came together for the regions first ever H2GP race in Adelaide to race their self-built cars. SA-H2H™ was super excited to be coordinating this program for the state alongside the Horizon Educational team; it certainly was a day full of action!

Congratulations to team ‘Thunder Findon’ taking home the winner’s trophy and booking themselves a ticket to California in September to complete against the best teams from around the world.

Hydrogen is crucial to the energy transition as it offers a clean and versatile energy carrier that can be produced without adding to carbon emissions, such as electrolysis using renewable electricity.

This workshop helped the emerging hydrogen sector to understand the potential opportunities for companies looking to supply to this sector.

At this workshop, you heard about:

*Introduction to the Industry Capability Network (ICN) (Bettina Venner, Head of ICN SA)

*SA hydrogen industry cluster (Nicholas Mumford, Co-Founder SA-H2H™ and Simon Hareb, SA Hub Lead CORE Innovation)

*Hydrogen 101 – the hydrogen opportunity (Nicholas Mumford, Co-Founder SA-H2H™)

*Hydrogen supply chains – goods and services required by this sector, including renewable energy generation, hydrogen production and downstream applications (David Royle, Supply Chain Manager ICN SA)

This workshop was proudly hosted by CORE Innovation, and supported by SA-H2H™ and ICN.
