Jorge Martin Gistau

Jorge Martin Gistau is a Chartered Engineer who leads Ricardo plc’s Energy Infrastructure Transition business across Australia and New Zealand. With deep expertise in sustainable mobility, energy systems, and net zero technologies, Jorge drives complex decarbonisation strategies that deliver real-world impact for governments and industry alike. Ricardo plc is a global strategic, environmental and engineering consultancy at the intersection of transport, energy and global climate agendas.

He has led landmark initiatives including the Net Zero Feasibility and Strategic Business Case for South Australia’s Department for Infrastructure and Transport, and has overseen major energy transition projects spanning hydrogen, SAF and large-scale renewables. His leadership also helped shape Transport for NSW’s $2.8 billion Regional Rail Project, supporting the deployment of a new bi-mode fleet.

With an Executive MBA from AGSM and the Kellogg School of Management, and a Diploma in Project Management, Jorge combines commercial acumen with technical excellence. He sits on the Board of the South Australian Hydrogen Cluster and contributes to the Australasian Railway Association’s Sustainability Committee, and the Australian Hydrogen Council.

Jorge is recognised for building strategic partnerships, leading multidisciplinary teams, and championing innovation to accelerate the clean energy transition across infrastructure and transport networks.
